W Design created a website for The Eagle Institute to use as an educational
tool and a resource for its members and the active community. The site
opens with a series of rotating photographs of eagles in different seasons
of the year or stages in their lives.
A “Kitchen Counter” form was developed for visitors to report eagle behavior as statistical findings to The Eagle Institute. The form assures that the collected data is consistnet and useful to the Institute’s behavior tracking research.
As part of a cooperative effort with The Eagle Institute, Highland Renaissance, Town of Highland, the Kiwanis Club of Minisink Valley, among others, W Design helped to create the Eagle Observation Blind along the Delaware River in Minisink Ford, NY.
The goal was to create a safe and educational environment where visitors can watch the American Bald Eagles that fly along the river corridor. W Design developed an educational exhibit with the help of Lori McKean of The Eagle Insitute and writer Carol Roig of Barryville, NY to assist visitors in understanding their surroundings and encouraging them to help protect the river and the region. Interpretive signage was created to guide visitors on the features of the blind and proper etiquette for responsibly observing these striking creatures. Some discussion has been made that a second blind may be developed in the near future.
For the 5th year in a row, W Design has created the invitation package and event signage for Starlight’s Celebrity Sports Auction, held at Madison Square Garden, which helps to raise funds to bring together experts from pediatric health care, technology, and entertainment to create programs that educate, entertain and inspire seriously ill children. This year’s auction raised over $350,000 for Starlight programs. To learn more about Starlight visit: www.starlight-newyork.org
W Design worked with the non-profit organization the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway, Inc. to design a fun and informative website that focuses on the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway, also known as NYS Route 97.
The website expresses the beauty and wealth of activities one can partake in along the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway. It highlights eight towns, several hamlets and the Delaware River, helping to “drive” visitors to the area and develop a tourism based economy.
The website offers users intersting historical facts about the byway and each of the towns and hamlets it traverses, interactive maps, a directory of businesses, a photo gallery through which visitors can submit their own photos, and the ability to send an ePostcard.
